Yusuf Qureshi - External Trustee

Hi, my name’s Yusuf and I’m one of the External Trustees that sits on the Union Board. I’m currently enrolled in an Accelerated law degree at the University of Glasgow and recent Business Management graduate from the University of the West of Scotland. I take a keen interest youth empowerment and community development which I thank my grandfather for, the late Bashir Ahmad MSP.

Outside of University and work, I serve as Scotland representative on the Princes Trust National Youth Advisory Board. My role involves advising senior management on organisational direction, in order to place systems within communities and school’s country-wide; to give those from disadvantaged backgrounds a more inclusive platform for success.

I wanted to join the Union board in order to give back to the University which served me through my academic career. I see my board membership as a hugely rewarding experience and have the opportunity to make a lasting difference by contributing my ideas and knowledge.
