Help ReMode process textile donations and start to turn them back into useful items. You’ll be doing basic tasks such as removing buttons and zips, unpicking garments and preparing garments for workshops. You’ll also be helping get stock ready for our shop, which might include ironing. As you become more confident in basic sewing techniques you will be able to contribute as a Maker- making and upcycling garments to sell in our shop and online.
The sewing group meet on Wednesday afternoons in our workshop space. Everyone has their own designated workspace, physical distancing is in place and mask-wearing is mandatory unless you are exempt. We ask everyone to please sanitise your hands upon entry and before using any shared equipment.
If volunteers prefer they can work from home, which means working in your own time with a higher degree of flexibility.
ReMode Renfrewshire is a not-for-profit Community Interest Company. Our purpose is to raise awareness of the environmental impact of the fashion and textiles industry and give young people and the wider community the knowledge and practical skills needed to reduce this impact. We run a retail space and workshop on Paisley High Street where we sell second hand and upcycled clothes, alongside ethical toiletries/cleaning products and showcase local designers work. We also run workshops and events for the local community.
