ROLE DESCRIPTION

There are so many roles in Girlguiding – you can choose what’s right for you!

Girlguiding UK have a page on their website which explains the different roles and what you can expect from them! - https://www.girlguiding.org.uk/making-guiding-happen/volunteer-roles-in-guiding/roles-working-with-girls/

In Ayrshire South we are looking for volunteers who would like to explore all levels of roles, but especially Unit Assistant leaders and leaders!

We are also looking for a few members to join our Comms team to assist with marketing and building our new website.

Safety is always our priority in Guiding, and we have followed strict guidance throughout the pandemic. We continue to adhere to Scottish Government and Girlguiding Scotland Covid-19 regulations and each unit has had to fill out an extensive risk assessment, signed off at County level, before returning to face to face meetings. For more information about what we are doing to keep safe, see here: https://www.girlguiding.org.uk/making-guiding-happen/coronavirus-keeping-safe/

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

To volunteer with Girlguiding – all you need is passion!

With guiding you’re never alone – there are thousands of people supporting you along the way. No matter what guiding role you take on, whether you choose to be a leader, help with unit administration, or do a supporting role, all of Girlguiding Scotland’s volunteers get full support.

As a volunteer you’ll get the training and resources to help develop new and existing skills. Whether it’s attending a weekend training event, chatting to the leaders in your area or receiving our regular email newsletter packed full of helpful tips and latest news, support will always be at hand.

And being a part of guiding allows you to put your talents to good use, develop your confidence and meet new people, and of course, have fun. Plus there are incredible chances to travel, go camping and try things you never thought you would!

As well as helping girls have fun and learn, you’ll boost your own abilities and confidence as simply being involved in guiding will enhance skills such as leadership, budgeting, organisation, communicating and more.
